Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 24, 2026

The short version. Your health and location data stay on your iPhone to power gameplay - we don't operate a server that collects them and we never sell your personal data. The app shows optional rewarded video ads through Google AdMob, which collects a limited amount of device and ad-interaction data to serve and measure those ads. You control ad tracking through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt.

This Privacy Policy explains what information Aura Rivals ("the app", "we", "us") accesses, how it is used, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. By using the app you agree to this policy.

1. Information the app accesses

Health & fitness data (Apple Health)

With your permission, the app reads activity metrics from Apple Health - such as steps, walking/running distance, active energy, exercise and stand time, resting heart rate, sleep, and flights climbed. This data is read only to calculate your in-game attribute buffs. It is processed on your device, is never transmitted to us, is never used for advertising, and is never sold. The app does not write any data back to Apple Health. You can revoke access at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Health.

Location

With your permission, the app uses your location to place your character on the map and to spawn nearby in-game entities. Location is used on-device to drive gameplay and, in Passive Mode, to detect meaningful movement. We do not store your location history on a server, do not sell it, and do not use it to target ads. You can revoke location access at any time in iOS Settings.

Screen Time / Mind Training (optional)

If you enable Mind Training with real Screen Time, the app uses Apple's Family Controls and Device Activity frameworks to grant attribute buffs based on time spent in categories of apps you choose (for example mindfulness, learning, or music). This information is handled entirely on-device by Apple's frameworks and is never transmitted to us. If you do not enable this feature, the app uses a manual "honor system" check-in instead.

Game progress & purchases

Your character, inventory, currencies, and settings are stored on your device and, if you use iCloud, synced through your private Apple iCloud account. We do not have access to your iCloud data. In-app purchases (Crystal Shards) are processed by Apple through the App Store - we never receive your name, card number, or other payment details.

Game Center (optional)

If you are signed in to Game Center, the app submits your XP, wins, and level to Apple Game Center leaderboards. This is governed by Apple's privacy policy. You can disable Game Center in iOS Settings.

Nearby players

The app can discover other nearby players over Apple's peer-to-peer Multipeer Connectivity (local Wi-Fi/Bluetooth) to show them as rivals on your map. These connections are local and direct between devices; there is no central matchmaking server that stores them.

Notifications (optional)

If you allow notifications, the app may send you alerts such as passive battle results. You can turn these off in iOS Settings.

2. Advertising (Google AdMob)

Aura Rivals offers optional rewarded video ads - short ads you can choose to watch in exchange for in-game currency. These ads are served by Google AdMob, a third-party advertising service operated by Google. To serve and measure ads, AdMob's SDK may collect and process a limited amount of information from your device, which can include:

This information is collected by Google under Google's Privacy Policy, and Google's use of it for advertising is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. We do not combine AdMob data with your health, precise location, or Apple Health information. If you make an eligible in-app purchase, you can play without watching ads for the associated reward.

3. App Tracking Transparency

Before any tracking that uses your device's advertising identifier across other companies' apps or websites, iOS will show Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt asking for your permission. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track," the advertising identifier is not shared for cross-app tracking and you may see less relevant (but still present) ads. You can change this choice at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.

4. What we do NOT do

5. Children's privacy

Aura Rivals is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Ads are configured to request content appropriate to the app's age rating. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will address it.

6. Data retention & deletion

Because your game data lives on your device (and optionally your private iCloud), you can delete all of it at any time by deleting the app, or by using the reset options within the app. Removing the app also removes the local data it created. Data processed by Google AdMob is retained and deleted according to Google's own policies, linked above.

7. Security

The app relies on iOS's built-in protections and Apple's frameworks (HealthKit, iCloud, StoreKit, Game Center) to keep your data secure on your device and within your Apple account.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "Last updated" date.
